Job Description:
Within the FMCG plant, the position is in charge of the effective operation, upkeep, and management of boilers, mechanical equipment, and utility systems. Ensuring optimal production support while upholding safety, quality, and environmental standards is the main goal.
Also, the duties include managing and maintaining utility systems such as boilers, compressors, chillers, HVAC, and water treatment. Assuring the effectiveness of mechanical equipment through prompt repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting is another aspect of the job. Furthermore, optimizing utility use and keeping an eye on energy consumption are crucial components of the work.
Developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations, leading a team of technicians, effectively resolving mechanical issues, and working with production teams for continuous operations are all essential responsibilities of the role, which also includes supervising boiler operations in accordance with safety standards and regulations.
It is essential to keep thorough records of all maintenance, repairs, and regulatory compliance. The position also places a strong emphasis on following environmental, health, and safety regulations. Leading cost-cutting and energy-efficiency projects, as well as working with outside vendors for maintenance and inspections, are also crucial facets of the job.
Skills:
- A valid first-class boiler operator’s license and a B- Tech or a B.Sc. in Electrical, Mechanical, or a similar engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing utilities and running boilers in a production setting.
- Proficiency in utility systems, including water treatment, refrigeration, compressors, and boilers.
- Proficiency in CMMS and related applications.
- Outstanding leadership, team management, and communication abilities.
- Over ten years of expertise in the FMCG sector with mechanical, boiler, and utility systems.
